If you’ve been scrolling through social media lately, chances are you’ve played or heard little of the “wordle” game.
This new daily word game is free and available to anyone with an internet connection.
If you are playing for the first time, the principle of the game is quite simple: all you have to do is guess the five letter word of the day. The downside – there are no signs or clues.
Each player gets six attempts to guess the word, and for each attempt “Wordle” will let you know how close you are to the answer by changing the color of the letters.
Incorrect letters will appear in gray color. The correct letters that are in the right places will turn green and the correct letters but in the wrong places in the word will turn yellow.
This may sound simple, but considering how many words in the English language are only five letters, it can be overwhelming.
Don’t worry, we have some tips that can help you become more successful in this mind-blowing game. check them out.
try some vowels
You know your vowels – a, e, i, o, u and sometimes y. Your best bet for guessing the word would probably be a process of elimination with vowels.
According to a credible review report, you should start with a “tone-heavy” word, such as “farewell”, “audio”, “louis”, etc.
There are a limited number of these “heavy vowel” words, but if you start with them, you can hopefully get a solid foundation and get closer to crafting an everyday word.
And if you get the vowel letters in the right place right off the bat, you’re golden.
yes you can double letters
In case you were wondering, the answer is yes, you can use a letter more than once in a word.
While it’s probably not the best idea to repeat the letters at the beginning of the match, it might be worth a try if you’re confused or you’ve figured out four out of five letters.
If You’re Stumped at First, Try These Opening Words
If you get stuck at the start of a match, don’t worry. These opening words may help you.
According to Polygon Reports, the analysis suggests trying words that contain some of the most commonly used letters in English, such as “e”, “t”, “s”, etc. Words like “proportion”, “irritable”. Stain” or “clock” can also help you base your word.
Or, if in doubt, you can also try starting with a word that begins with “S.” According to Polygon, there are more words beginning with an “S” in the English language than any other letter.
Try using “X” as a placeholder
If you guessed some letters correctly, but stared at your screen for 10 minutes or more, consider this.
Try arranging your guessed letters by adding “X” as a placeholder where the unknown letters are.
It can help you sort out your thoughts and help you better visualize the answer.
And, if it’s any consolation, you can’t submit Word until you hit “Enter,” so don’t worry about accidentally missing a guess.
Everyone gets the same word puzzle… Don’t share the answer!
Yes, you read that right. Each player will see the same puzzle per day.
So if you’re able to successfully guess an everyday word, although it’s tempting to brag, maybe don’t talk about it. You don’t want to answer.
